Carey Youth Camp is a Christian holiday camp supported by Belmont Road and Carey Baptist Churches which caters for all ages between 8 and 18 (age at August).
Each year for one week in August, we take up to 50 children to a seaside location, and camp under canvas; providing a comprehensive programme of activities, run by a staff of volunteers. The camp is a non-profit making organisation and has been running since 1977 – giving us 40 years of experience.

About this year’s site and facilities….

In 2024 we will be visiting the isle of Wight (17th August to 24th) . The campsite is situated only 5 minute walking distance of a lovely sandy beach. With good cooking facilities and showers/toilet facilities.

Our activities…
Provide a varied exciting programme of activities geared to each age group.

Visit a local theme park (Juniors and Seniors) or outdoor activity centre (14+)

Organise daily trips to a sandy beach, with optional supervised swim

Play sports on site (football, cricket, volley ball and more…) or visit the local towns

Show off our talents at the Friday night Camp Concert!

Provide lots of time to spend with your friends, and make new ones!

Provide a well-balanced menu of 3 meals a day. We aim to make sure no one goes hungry.

Special dietary requirements should not be a problem.

And how we manage the camp….

We are organised by three CO’s (offering combined experience staffing Youth Camps of more than 50 years!) and supported by a team of over 30 experienced volunteers.

You will recognise some of the staff from the youth groups at the two Churches and many have been coming since they were juniors themselves!

Every effort is taken to provide an enjoyable and safe holiday. A qualified First Aider is always on hand.

No group events take place without the recommended ratio of leaders to campers and during the night we have leaders on call within the safety tent covering night care.

All volunteers are CRB – DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service check) checked, have references taken up, and are subject to the joint Churches safe to grow policy (available on request).

CO’s are always contactable via the emergency phone number.
